Choosing childcare and checking the full cost
An available place, a suitable routine and an affordable fee are three different checks. Ask about all three before deciding.

Compare the daily routine
- Ask about the child’s age group, opening hours and settling-in arrangements.
- Check meals, allergies, naps and how staff communicate with parents.
- Confirm pickup arrangements and who is authorised to collect the child.
Get the money details
- Ask for the ordinary fee and any extra costs in writing.
- Seoul has support for some foreign children using childcare; eligibility and the current process need checking.
- Ask the centre or district office which documents and payment method are required for any support.
Prepare the first weeks
- Provide current emergency contacts and information the carers need.
- Agree on a manageable settling-in plan.
- Review the routine after the child has attended rather than treating the first day as the whole experience.
A little Korean goes a long way
- 입소 가능한 자리가 있나요? — Is there an available childcare place?
- 추가 비용이 있나요? — Are there any additional costs?

What a family centre can help you with
You do not need to know the name of a programme before asking for help. Start with the situation your family is trying to manage.
Planning pregnancy care and asking about support
Start with a medical provider and your actual insurance position. Then ask which public support, if any, applies to your circumstances.
School notices and family life in two languages
A family can need language support even when one adult speaks Korean well. Share important information in a way that everyone involved can follow.
Marriage paperwork: ask about both countries
A marriage report and a residence application are separate processes. Nationality and where the marriage takes place affect the documents, so get a checklist for your own case.
